How to Choose the Right Companion: A First-Timer’s Guide

Picking someone when you have never done this before is the part most first-timers stall on. It takes about five minutes once you know what to look at: who is actually on shift today, two preferences you genuinely care about, and one question to the receptionist.

Start with who is working today, not with a favourite profile

The roster at Miss Kitty changes daily. A lady whose profile you liked on Tuesday may not be rostered on Saturday, and the fastest way to waste a trip is to arrive set on one person without checking. The Today’s Girls page shows who is on, and if you would rather not scroll, ring or text 0468 387 665 and reception will read you the current list. We are open 11am to 2am seven days, so “today” is a long window — the roster at 1pm is not the roster at 10pm.

Narrow it down with two or three preferences, not ten

People who arrive with a long checklist end up choosing more slowly and enjoying it less. Pick the two or three that actually change the visit for you:

• Manner — warm and talkative, or quiet and unhurried. For a first visit this matters more than any photo.
• Language — several of the ladies speak Mandarin or Cantonese, and reception speaks Chinese, so you can arrange the whole thing in Chinese if that is easier.
• Look — age range, build, height, nationality. Say it plainly. Nobody at the desk is surprised by a preference.
• Time you have — 30 minutes and an hour are different visits. Knowing which you want before you ask narrows the list straight away.

What a photo tells you, and what it does not

The photos on our profiles are of the lady herself, not stock images, and they are current. What they cannot show you is how someone talks, whether she is chatty or calm, or whether the two of you will get on. That part is decided in the first thirty seconds of the introduction, not on a screen. If personality matters more to you than a particular look — and for most first visits it does — say that to reception instead of scrolling for the perfect picture.

How to ask reception, in the words people get stuck on

The receptionists do this every shift. There is no clever way to phrase it.

1. Call or text 0468 387 665, or just walk up to the desk. Either is normal.
2. Say how long you want — 30 minutes, an hour. That alone rules most of the list in or out.
3. Give two preferences. “Someone easy to talk to, Mandarin if possible” is enough to work with.
4. Ask who is free right now and who is free in twenty minutes. A short wait often gets you a better match than taking whoever is standing there.
5. Meet her, then say yes or say no thank you. Both answers are ordinary.

What it costs, so you can plan the visit

Rates start at $160 for 30 minutes. Longer bookings cost more and the full price is quoted at the desk before you go through — you agree to the number first, and nothing is added afterwards. There is no membership, no cover charge and no drink minimum. If budget is the thing deciding your booking length, say so at the desk; it is a normal question and the answer is a number, not a sales pitch.

Book ahead or walk in

Walk-ins are fine any time we are open, and on a quiet weekday afternoon you will usually be introduced within a few minutes of arriving. Booking is worth it in two cases: you want a specific lady, or you are working to a tight window — a lunch break, a gap between meetings, a flight. An hour of notice is usually enough. The two mistakes first-timers make

The first is over-researching. Reading every profile twice does not make the choice better; it just makes you arrive tired of the decision. Look at who is on, pick two or three you would be happy with, and let reception sort the rest.

The second is not saying what you want. People worry a preference sounds rude, so they say “anyone is fine”, get matched at random, and leave thinking they picked wrong. You did not pick wrong — you did not pick. A plain sentence about manner and language is the single most useful thing you can give the desk.
